Niara and Allan have their servant hearts to thank for bringing them together as it was at a volunteer event at a local homeless shelter that they met. Their Elegant Southern Wedding was as beautiful as their love, saying “I do” beneath the glistening chandeliers in the Tate House’s covered pavilion with a floral covered arch framing the altar. But beyond the stunning decor, their personalized vows and the sanctity of the ceremony… that’s what we’ll always remember. After jumping the broom, a nod to the couple’s culture, guests sipped and noshed during cocktail hour before making their way into the ballroom for the reception.

The reception look featured rose gold linens with sequins that sparkled under the romantic glow of chandeliers and candlelight. Gold chargers and elegant centerpieces completed the tablescpae. Niara’s family is West Indian, so it was important to the couple to tie in a few more personal nods that were reminiscent of her heritage. This lead to a “La Vie en Rose” theme with pops of Burgundy and West Indian touches. Peppered in with the rest of the playlist was fun Caribbean music. And in addition to their pretty wedding cake (red velvet and pink champagne flavors – yum!) was a traditional black cake that Niara’s aunt made and wrapped in individual servings for each guest.

When it came to choosing their venue, Niara said, “The Tate House was one of the most beautiful venues I’ve ever been to.” We were honored that Niara and Allen chose our venue to host their special day – especially as they live in Los Angeles! But how sweet was it that they chose to be wed in the state where they met?
