Wedding Wednesday | Tate House Georgia Wedding | Cody and Sarah

These Tate House newlyweds, Cody and Sarah, met through a mutual friend at a New years Eve party nearly four years ago. She became his bride-to-be when he popped the question in New York!

“We booked a trip to NYC to see Billy Joel perform at Madison Square Garden. Right outside of the Toys “R: Us in Times Square are several caricature artists. We always get a caricature when we go somewhere. One of the caricature artists was already waiting on us to come to his area. We sat down to have what I thought was a normal caricature drawing done. When the artist turned the final picture around it was of Cody proposing. I laughed thinking he was just being funny. Much to my surprise Cody was then getting on one knee and proposing to me right in the middle of Times Square. I was completely surprised and overjoyed. It was perfect for us!”

The two said “I do” at our Georgia wedding venue on October 10, 2015. “I knew I wanted an October wedding. It is the perfect weather. Not to hot and not cold. Fall is our favorite time of year with the leaves changing and the air getting cool and crisp. The farmers almanac said the second weekend is always the best for weather. It was perfect weather at our ceremony!”

With an elegant fall wedding in mind, Sarah envisioned rich colors at the Atlanta mansion wedding venue – shades of dark purple and gold throughout the wedding accompanied by florals in reds, oranges, yellows and green. To bring this color palette full circle, the bridesmaids wore plum colored dresses with red, orange and green bouquets. The groomsmen and groom were in charcoal tuxes with purple boutonnieres.

“The Tate House is stunning. Both inside and outside it is a show stopper. We loved the idea of being able to have the ceremony outside with the mountain backdrop and the reception in the ballroom. I also loved the idea of all inclusive. The planning team and everyone involved with the Tate House was truly a pleasure to work with and made our day perfect.”
