Maleah and Phillip’s Gold and Ivory Wedding

Today on the blog, we’re sharing Maleah and Phillip’s Gold and Ivory Wedding. Read below for how they met, their sweet proposal story and some of our favorite images from their elegant and classic wedding. Happy Wedding Wednesday!

How They Met

The year was 2014. It was a cool October evening in Athens, GA. Maleah’s friends (and Phillip’s new neighbors) decided to throw a Halloween party. “A perfect recipe for chaos,” the couple joked. Toward the end of the evening, Maleah and Phillip talked for a while, and neither thought anything of the interaction. Fast forward a week later, Maleah’s friend, Jamie, and Phillip’s friend, Jon, convinced the two that the other was interested (they weren’t). Maleah then, smoothly, asked for Phillip’s number. He asked her on their first date, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

The two went back to Athens to visit a few of their favorite places. After seeing the Georgia Museum of Art, the Iron Horse, eating at Cali N’ Titos, and playing (too many) games at Rook and Pawn, they took a trip down memory lane through UGA’s campus. While they were headed back downtown, he popped the question in Memorial Gardens, and of course she said yes! Phillip managed to sneak his sister, Kinsey, and Maleah’s best friend, Ellie, to the scene to catch everything on camera.

The Wedding

Maleah and Phillip’s style was timeless and classic with a neutral palette of gold and ivory. The bride and her bridesmaids’ day started with brunch being served in the bridal cottage while the groom and his groomsmen got ready across the property in the groom’s cottage. After some portraits, they made their way to their unplugged ceremony in the pavilion adorned with tons of white roses and foliage. After cocktail hour in the garden terrace, the ballroom would be where the newlyweds shared their first meal as husband and wife. We loved how this wedding ended with dancing and mingling in the pavilion and on the grounds overlooking the mountains. It was a beautiful day and we’re honored to share it with you on the blog!
