Q. How many
guests can you accomodate for an event?
The ballroom holds 200 guests for a sit-down
dinner with music and dancing and 250 for a buffet menu. Using the surrounding gardens, we
can accommodate 400.
Q. Will there
be another event at the same time as mine?
No. The entire mansion and gardens are yours for your grand
event.
Q. If I want
information on having an event at the estate, what do I do?
Call 770-735-3122 to make an appointment to meet with an
event planner.
Q. How often do
you have appointments to view the estate?
We make appointments Tuesday-Sunday. Times of appointments
vary from day to day and are according to availability. Please keep in mind that weekend
appointments book fast.
Q. What if I am going
to be late for my appointment?
The appointments are every hour, so if you are late
please realize that we cannot give you more than the alloted time scheduled for you.
Q. What is your site
fee?
Our site fee depends on the day of the event, time of
the year and the type of event.
Q. What is the cost
for a wedding ceremony?
The cost of a ceremony depends on the number of guests.
For up to 150 guest, the cost is $750 plus the site fee. It includes the set-up of padded chairs
with white covers and white sashes, the services of your Tate House wedding director, an initial
planning session with her and a final one-hour meeting with her. Your wedding director will direct
your rehearsal, usually held the day before your wedding, and handle the flow of the event on your
wedding day.
Q. Do you allow outside
caterers?
All food and beverage is catered through the Tate Mansion.
We do not allow any outside food or beverege to be brought in unless specifically agreed to in
your contract.
Q. Are there overnight
accommodations at the estate?
Yes, presently we have 9 rustic cottages available for
guests.
Q. Is there a room
for the bride and groom to get ready in?
Yes, the bride and attendants and groom and groomsmen
each have a room to get ready in on the day of the wedding.
Q. Can we have just
our wedding ceremony at the Tate House and our reception elsewhere?
No, ceremonies are available only with a reception.
Q. How early can our
guests arrive?
We request that guests arrive no earlier than 30
minutes prior to the ceremony time. The mansion is open only to the immediate wedding party
and we ask that your guests respect that our staff is busy preparing for your event.
Q. If more guests
show up than we expect, are we charged for them?
Tate House banquet manager and wedding director will
do a headcount during the ceremony or during your reception to confirm the exact number of
guests. Should your headcount go over the guaranteed number determined at your final headcount
time (10 days before your event), you will be charged a $10 surcharge for each additional guest,
along with the agreed upon food, beverage, service tax and charge for each guest. This applies
to guests who are added after the guaranteed headcount and those who show up unexpectedly the
day of the event. Our chef will do everything possible to accomodate any surprise guests you may
have. We encourage all our clients to double check this headcount, as unexpected arrivals create
extra costs for you. Also, please remember that you will not be able to decrease your headcount
after the final number has been guranteed.
Q. Are children included
in your headcount?
Children 5 years of age or younger are not included
in your headcount.
Q. If there is food left
over, can we take it with us?
Health codes prohibit taking food off the premises,
except for the wedding cake.
Q. Is the wedding cake
included?
Yes, our packages include the wedding cake. There
are several options to choose from.
Q. How much time do we
have for our rehearsal and when is it usually scheduled?
Each couple receives a one-hour rehearsal, which is
usually the day before the wedding. We will be as flexible as possible in scheduling your rehearsal.
However, it may be necessary to work around other scheduled events.
Q. May we have a
separate time to take photographs?
The Tate Mansion is available for wedding pictures
at no charge if you have booked your wedding and reception with us. You must schedule in
advance and time is limited to one hour. There is a fee of $200 per hour if your wedding is
to take place elsewhere.
Q. May we have additional
time outside of the scheduled event hours?
The fee for each additional hour of rental time is
$500. This must be scheduled in advance.
